1. Our Services
Providence 1903 Charters Ltd. offers participatory soft adventure sailing experiences aboard the historic tall ship Providence. All events take place within the protected and scenic waters of the Salish Sea. Guests join the crew as “guest crew” for an immersive and educational experience, though no prior sailing experience is required.
2. Safety and Conduct
The safety of all aboard Providence is our highest priority. All voyages are operated in compliance with Transport Canada regulations and under the supervision of trained and certified crew.
- Guests must follow all safety briefings and crew instructions at all times.
- Participation is at the discretion of the Captain, who reserves the right to modify or cancel itineraries based on weather, safety, or operational concerns.
- Any guest whose behavior endangers themselves, other passengers, or the crew may be removed from the voyage without refund.
3. Booking and Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place aboard Providence.
- Bookings are confirmed only once payment is received and a confirmation email is issued.
- Payment can be made through our online booking system or through other approved methods.
4. Cancellation Policy
- Guest Cancellations
- If you cancel more than 14 days (2 weeks) before the scheduled departure, you will receive a 100% credit toward a future voyage of equal value.
- If no future voyage dates are available, a full refund will be issued.
- Cancellations made within 14 days of the departure date are non-refundable, except in cases of documented medical emergency, at the discretion of Providence 1903 Charters Ltd.
- Operator Cancellations
- In the rare event that Providence 1903 Charters Ltd. must cancel a scheduled voyage (e.g., due to weather or mechanical issues), guests will be offered:
- a full refund, or
- the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
5. Assumption of Risk
Guests understand that sailing involves physical activity and certain inherent risks, including but not limited to motion sickness, variable weather conditions, and physical exertion. By participating, guests voluntarily assume these risks and agree to waive liability claims except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by Providence 1903 Charters Ltd.
6. Health and Fitness Requirements
- All guests must be in reasonably good health and capable of moving around a vessel under sail.
- Guests with medical conditions, mobility issues, or concerns about seasickness should consult with the operator before booking.
- Providence is not a wheelchair-accessible vessel.
7. Minors
- Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Certain trips may have age minimums for safety reasons.
8. Privacy Policy
Personal information collected during the booking process is used solely for operational and communication purposes and will not be sold or shared with third parties without your consent.
9. Changes to Terms
Providence 1903 Charters Ltd. reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website and take effect immediately upon posting.
